CAT 2018 Exam Centres List – The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) will conduct the Common Admission Test on November 25, 2018. The entrance examination is the gateway for admission in 20 IIMs and more than a 100 B-schools across the country. The IIMs shall offer admission in around 4,000 seats. The exam centers for CAT 2018 shall be same as previous year. However, there might be an increase in the CAT 2018 Test Centers as happened in CAT 2017. The test cities in 2016 were 136, whereas, in CAT 2017 the exam cities were increased to 140. This list of CAT 2018 exam cities will only be confirmed once the notification for CAT 2018 is released. Facts About CAT Exam Centers

  • The exam centers for CAT 2015 and 2016 were same, i.e., the exam was held in 136 cities.
  • In the year 2014, the exam was held in 99 cities, whereas, in 2013 the exam was conducted in 40 cities.
  • In the year 2015, Noida (Delhi NCR) as Test center was discontinued. However, to this many students requested to designate Noida in Delhi NCR as one of the test centers for CAT 2016.

How To Choose CAT 2018 Exam Center?

At the time of filling the CAT 2018 Application Form, you will have to submit the choices of the exam center. You will be given the option to select four test cities in order of preference from the drop-down menu. The allotment of CAT 2018 Test center will be done on first-come-first-serve basis. The details about the test centers in these test cities will be available on the CAT 2018 website and the name of the test center will be printed on the admit card.

What to carry and not to carry to the Test Center?

Here is a list of items which you should CARRY to the exam center:

  1. Print out of the CAT 2018 Admit Card
  2. Along with the admit card you shall also have to carry the Photo ID proof such as Aadhaar card, Passport, PAN card, Voter ID, UID card, and Driver’s license.

Items which you should NOT CARRY to the exam center:

  1. Do not bring inside any electronic device, including mobile phone, calculator and watch.
  2. Since CAT is a computer-based test, there is no point in carrying any stationery.
  3. Don’t carry any bags, pouches, or purses to the center as the center will not take its responsibility. Moreover, do not carry any other paper or document apart from CAT 2018 Admit Card and photo identity proof.

Q. Is there any provision for changing the CAT 2018 Exam Center?

A. This is one of the most frequently asked questions by the candidate. Once they have selected the test center and submitted the application form they shall not be able to edit the choice of the test centers.

Q. Along with the CAT 2018 Exam Centers can I also choose the shift for the exam?

A. The exam shift is allocated to each candidate on the basis of the city preference made at the time of application. You are not allowed to select the shift.

Q. What were the exam centers allotted in Delhi for CAT 2016?

A. It has been observed that the concerned authorities do not specify any particular exam center in Delhi. They only state the city names.
