MBA CET 2019 Analysis – State Common Entrance Cell of Maharashtra is conducting MBA CET 2019 on 09 and 10 March. The MBA CET Analysis of 2019 is available after the completion of first session. MBA CET 2019 Analysis

The MBA CET 2019 Analysis releases for Day 1 – Slot 1, 2 and Day 2 – Slot 3, 4. The slots may vary on the basis of difficulty level, however, the overall exam pattern remains the same. There are 200 questions in the exam with no negative marking for incorrect answers.

MBA CET 2019 Analysis

The type of questions in the two sessions may differ. Candidates experienced surprises in the paper. In such cases, candidates had to skip the lengthy & tricky questions and attempt the rest of the questions to save time. In the logical and analytical reasoning section, it was better to solve questions in the order analytical, critical/verbal reasoning and in last analytical puzzles.

In the verbal ability section, candidates must solve the question in order vocabulary, grammar, para-based questions, and reading comprehension. Similarly, in the Quantitative Aptitude, first solve data sufficiency, quant comparison, data interpretation and then quant.

Highlights of MBA CET 2019 Paper Day-1

MBA CET 2019 Analysis for Quantitative Analysis

This section had an overall 50 questions. This year there were no data sufficiency questions and the overall section was on a difficult side.

  • Question Division – QA (10), DI (24), Quantitative Comparison (10), Odd-man out (6).
  • DI – There were four sets from Caselet, Line+Table, Pie chart+Table, Table. Apart from Pie chart+Table, the rest of the questions were calculation intensive.
  • QA – As usual major questions were from the Arithmetic section and 2 questions were from probability and mensuration.
  • Odd one out – Questions were easy to attempt in this part.
  • Data Sufficiency – No questions from this topic.
  • Quantitative Comparison – Questions based on Quadratic Equation were easy. Whereas, Arithmetic based questions were a little tricky.
  • Good Attempts  – 34 to 36.

MBA CET 2019 Analysis for Abstract Reasoning

There were 25 questions of this section. The difficulty level was moderate with visual reasoning questions. 18-20 attempts can be considered as good attempts. The division of questions was as follows series completion (12), Analogies (8), dis-similar pairs (5).

MBA CET 2019 Analysis for Logical Reasoning

There were 75 questions of this section. There were questions from non-verbal reasoning (60) and verbal reasoning (15).

  • Major Share of Questions – Most of the questions of non-verbal reasoning was based on arrangements. Sets were overall time-consuming.
  • Verbal Reasoning – Except from 1 confusing questions, the overall part was easy.
  • Good Attempts – 46 to 48

MBA CET 2019 Analysis for VARC Section

This section had an overall 50 questions. Candidates who could able to attempt 36-38 questions with high accuracy can easily score good marks in this section.

  • RC– Number of questions same as last year. This year, there has been 3 passage instead of 2.
  • Types of Questions in RC – There were 4,5, 6 questions in RC. Out of which, there were 5 vocabulary-based questions and 1 F.I.B. Overall RCs were easy.
  • Major focus of Exam – Idioms and Vocabulary.

New Type of Questions in VARC

  • There were questions based on finding the preceding sentence of the sequence.
  • Next, find the crux of the paragraph.
  • In paragraph jumble, there were 7 sentences with one sentence fixed.
  • There was a question in which six sentences are given with four bold words each. In it, candidates have to replace incorrect word with the correct one from the given option.

Last Year MBA CET Analysis

The overall difficulty level of the logical reasoning section was moderate to slightly difficult. Most of the questions were from analytical puzzles and there were no questions from input-output, decision making, blood relations etc. In analytical puzzles, major questions were from linear arrangements, distribution, comparison, and circular arrangements.

The correct choice of questions is key to crack MBA CET. 

In the analytical reasoning section, except direction sense, questions from deductions, symbols & notations, coding-decoding was easy. Candidates could able to attempt 45-50 questions in 70 minutes.

In the abstract reasoning section, 15 questions were from series and rest were divided among Analogies and Similar Pair. Students could easily able to attempt 18-20 questions in 20 minutes. Only two questions were considered difficult in this section.

In the Reading Comprehension section, there were two passages with 8 and 7 questions respectively. The paragraphs were numbered and the questions were from the overall passage and particular paragraph. Also, there was a mix of direct and indirect questions in the paper.

The Vocabulary section had questions from synonyms & antonyms and fill in the blanks. Both types of questions were easy to attempt. In grammar, there was some new type of questions related to match the pair. In this students had to match the first part of the sentence to the second.

Next, is the quantitative aptitude section, apart from some lengthy quite doable. Students could easily able to solve 35 questions in 45 minutes. In quant, most of the questions were from the Arithmetic section. 2 questions were from percentages and partnership each, were from T & W, TSD, Mensuration, Ages, SICI, AMA, probability.

In the Data Interpretation section, questions were from Pie-Chart, Bar-Graph, Table, and Case Lets. Overall, in the exam, 125-130 were considered good attempts.

MBA CET 2019 Expected Cut-Off

The colleges of Maharashtra accepts multiple national level examinations for the admission. So, in order to apply at these colleges, candidates must look at the selection procedure at their official websites. For example, JBIMS takes admission only via CAP round only. MBA CET 2019 Answer Key

The exam conducting body does not release the Answer Key of the exam officially. As MBA CET is a computer-based exam, it does not issue the official key. If it publishes, candidates can check it on the official website using the registration number and password. MBA CET 2019 Result

The MBA CET 2019 Result releases on the official website on March 31, 2019. The state entrance cell of Maharashtra releases the exam result in the form of a merit list. It consists of the rank and scores of the candidates. The individual scorecard releases later. On the basis of rank, candidates can take admission to the management institutes of Maharashtra. MBA CET 2019 Counselling/ CAP

DTE Maharashtra conducts the MBA Centralized Admission Process in the month of May/ June 2019. Candidates need to register in order to participate in this process. Students who have appeared for MBA CET need not register again and can use the same MBA CET login credentials. In case, you are applying CAT, CMAT etc then you need to register with the applicable fee. Once registration is over, students need to freeze the seat as per the closing and opening ranks of the colleges.


The State Common Entrance Cell of Maharashtra conducts the MBA/ MMS CET once in a year. The exam takes in two multiple days window. It is a state level examination for admission to MBA/ MMS/ PGDM. The colleges of Maharashtra accept MBA CET along with other national level exams like CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ ATMA/ GMAT/ CMAT. Some colleges intake admission via their selection process and some via CAP rounds conducted by DTE Maharashtra.
