Process of Shortlisting candidates for GE & PI Round
When all the test takers will receive the Scorecard, the selection process for the GEPI will take place. To shortlist candidates institute has issued some guidelines. Most important and foremost is the Psychometric test. It is the main qualifier in the test. Which means those who will clear it will move towards the next qualifier. In simple terms, there are total 5 qualifiers that you have to come across before you get the call for interviews. This whole process will be done by the institute itself.
The whole qualifying criteria are given below.
(a) First, Qualifier is the Psychometric test.
(b) Candidates who will clear the above step will have their CAT/ XAT / GMAT scores considered. It wholly depends on the minimum cut-off set for any of these given exams.
(c) After those who will qualify the above step, scores of MICAT will be considered. That is sections Verbal ability (VA), Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QADI), General awareness (GA), and Divergent and Convergent Thinking (DCT).
(d) Now, those who will qualify above two steps on the basis of scaled scores will move towards this step. It is the evaluation of the Descriptive test.
(e) On the consideration of all the qualifiers, you will receive the call for the GEPI round. You must note that your best score out of MICAT I or MICAT II is considered for the evaluation.
How are Scaled Scores calculated?
Scaled scores will be calculated during the selection of students for GEPI round. The score obtained individually by any candidate in a particular component of MICAT-I/MICAT-II. For example, Quantitative Ability (QA) will be converted into Scaled Score using the following given formula for one of the components.
Scaled Score – QA of a candidate in MICAT-I/MICAT-II = (Score – QA of a candidate /Maximum obtained by any candidate amongst the candidates who have appeared in MICAT-I/MICAT-II in QA) multiplied by Maximum Possible Score in QA in MICAT-I/MICAT-II. Similarly, scaled scores of all the sections are evaluated.
Group Exercise and Personal Interview
Candidates have to appear on this round to admission in the new session of 2019-20. In the Group Exercise round, You will have to perform an activity with a team.
