PGDBA 2019 – The result for the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA 2019) is released on 12 March. PGDBA is jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur, and ISI Kolkata. The candidates who have applied for PGDBA 2019 must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria. The candidates are shortlisted for admission on the basis of their performance in the written test, and Personal Interview. You will also get extra points to work experience and academic standing. PGDBA 2019

The best part about the PGDBA Admission 2019 is that you will visit the three institutions – Indian Statistical Institute at Kolkata, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and Indian Institute of Management Calcutta – spending about six months at each institute.  There is a maximum of 60 seats in PGDBA which are offered to the candidates. PGDBA 2019 Result

The result of the written exam will be announced online in pdf format. The pdf will consist of details of the candidates who have been shortlisted for the Interview. The candidates need to report at the venue as per the schedule mentioned in the pdf list and also they will receive the call letter by post for the Interview. The shortlisted candidates need to carry the relevant documents at the time of the Interview.

What Are the Documents to Carry at the time of Personal Interview?

The candidates need to bring along the following documents at the time of Personal Interview:

  1. Interview Call Letter
  2. Admit Card of PGDBA Admission Test
  3. Filled in application form for personal interview
  4. Original Mark Sheet/Certificates from Class X till Graduation/Post Graduation as applicable.
  5. Original Work Experience documents, if applicable
  6. Original Certificates supporting any other Qualifications or Achievements that you have mentioned in the Application Form
  7. Valid Category (SC/ST/NC-OBC/DA) Certificate in original, if applicable
  8. Self-attested copies of all the relevant documents

PGDBA 2019 Selection Procedure

Firstly, a written test will be conducted and then the candidates are shortlisted for a personal interview. The final offer would be made on the basis of performance in the written test and the personal interview. Furthermore, due consideration will also be given to work experience and academic standing.

PGDBA 2019 Fee Structure

The programme fee for the PGDBA is Rs 20 lakh plus a refundable caution deposit of Rs. 10,000.00. The fee needs to be paid in four equal installments at the time of registration for each semester.

PGDBA 2019 Admit Card

Only those who have successfully registered for the entrance exam can download their admit card. The candidates can download their admit card online. You have also received the admit card for PGDBA 2019 by email. The admit card consists of personal details of the candidates as well as details of the written exam. It is mandatory for the candidates to bring the PGDBA 2019 Admit Card to the test center.

The registration process for PGDBA 2019 is available online at The candidates need to fill in their necessary information and submit the application form online. The application fee for PGDBA 2019 shall be payable by either online or offline mode.

PGDBA 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who wish to appear for the entrance exam for PGDBA 2019 must ensure that you fulfill the eligibility criteria. Check the PGDBA Eligibility Conditions below:

  1. You must possess a Bachelor’s/ Post-graduate degree.
  2. You must have secured a minimum of 60% marks, and/ or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale or equivalent. However, in the case of SC/ ST and Differently Abled (DA) category candidates, the qualifying marks for eligibility shall be 55%, and/or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale, and/or equivalent.
  3. Those who are in the final year of their degree examination are also eligible to apply for the written exam.

PGDBA 2019 Exam Pattern

The PGDBA 2019 is a written test which will consist of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). The total duration of the exam is 03 hours. There will be a total of 50 questions carrying 150 marks. There are 04 sections you need to prepare for the written exam namely – Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, and Data Visualization, Quantitative Aptitude.

Marking Scheme

  • For every correct answer, you will get +3 marks. 
  • Questions which are left unattempted will result in zero marks. 
  • There shall be a negative marking of -1 marks for an incorrect answer.

PGDBA 2019 Preparation Tips

Since the course focuses on Business Analytics, it is no surprise that 50% of the questions in the exam are from Quantitative Aptitude. So, here are some tips which can help to prepare for the exam.

  • For Quantitative Aptitude, refer 11th and 12th NCERT Books. Thoroughly, solving the exercise and examples can help to solve the questions in the exam. After solving the books, you can look for other sources for practice from the internet or other higher Maths help books. There are no specific books for PGDBA is available in the market.
  • The preparation of the English Section is more or less the same as CAT preparation. Also, prepare for inference or intent based questions.
  • DILR is quite easy and questions are pretty much direct.

PGDBA Exam Analysis

The question paper of the PGDBA exam is not available officially. Still, candidates can refer to previous year analysis in order to understand the exam.

In the English section, it is usually good to attempt atleast 10 questions. Rcs usually consist of inferential and fact-based questions. Para framing questions also vary from easy to moderate. Since the exam is not time intensive, you can take your time to select the right answer. This section can be easily attempted in 10-15 minutes.

Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation section is easy to attempt. Though you may find questions bit calculative intensive.

For Quantitative Ability, questions are usually from higher level Maths. Questions like Calculus, Inverse trigonometry, Matrices & Determinants plays a major role in the exam. Solving 15 questions in this section is considered as a good attempt.

Indian Statistical Institute

The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata is a globally reputed institution devoted to the research, teaching, and application of statistics, natural sciences, and social sciences. The Institute was founded by Professor P.C. Mahalanobis in Kolkata on 17th December 1931. The Headquarters of ISI is located in the northern fringe of the metropolis of Kolkata. Also, there are four centers located in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Tezpur.

The Key areas of expertise of ISI are Computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, Mathematical economics, Operations Research, and Information Science. Furthermore, it is one of the few research-oriented Indian schools offering courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

IIT Kharagpur

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur was established by the government of India in 1951. It was the first of the IITs to be established. IIT Kharagpur has an 8.5 square kilometers (2,100 acres) campus and is residence to about 22,000 inhabitants. The students and alumni of IIT Kharagpur are informally referred to as KGPians. The campus of IIT Kharagpur is located 120 kilometers (75 mi) west of Kolkata.

IIM Calcutta

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta was established as the first national institute for Post-Graduate studies and Research in Management by the Government of India.     • Yes, the fee is divided into four semesters. It includes hostel fees. All the fee is included except caution money, food-related expenses, and any travel expenses that a student may incur in its tenure.
