Panjab University, Chandigarh is going to announce PU MET 2018 Result tentatively in the month May, 2018. The candidates who have appeared for the exam will be able to check the marks scored by them through online mode only. An applicant has to visit the official website, puchd.ac.in, or click on the direct link to obtain PU MET 2018 result. After the result, a merit list will be released inviting eligible candidates for GD and PI. The final PU MET 2018 result will be announced later in the form of shortlisted candidates list which will have the name of all the applicants who are going to be offered admission to University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University, Chandigarh. There is a total of 200 seats in MBA programmes combined. The University will offer admission to the applicants in one of the 6 MBA programmes namely, retail management, banking and insurance management, IT and telecommunications management, Infrastructural management, pharmaceutical management and hospital management. How to Check PU MET 2018 Result

If you are among those applicants who have appeared for the exam and promptly waiting for PU MET 2018 Result, the below procedure will help you to check it after the announcement for the same has been made officially:

1st Step: A link is going to be provided on this page after officially made available. You have to click on it to access the page where the result could be downloaded.

2nd Step: In PU MET 2018 login form, provide the login credentials which includes (i) Login ID and (ii) Password. Hit the button ‘Sign In’.

3rd Step: After you have logged in PU MET 2018 result will be displayed on the screen. Check all the details and know your qualifying status for a selection process.

4th Step: Now download PU MET 2018 result and take a print out of scorecard for future use.

Selection Process For Compiling PU MET 2018 Result

All the candidates who will score minimum qualifying marks in PU MET 2018 exam will be invited for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The candidates will be shortlisted for GD/PI on the basis of marks obtained in the exam and the rank obtained.

To prepare a final merit list that will contain the names of all the candidates who have qualified the exam and scored good marks in GD and PI as per the weightage, explained below in the table, will be offered admission in the University:

PU MET 2018 Counselling

After the release of final merit list prepared by taking into consideration the marks scored in written exam, GD and PI, the applicants have to appear for the counselling round. During the counselling, seats will be allotted to you based on the position in the merit list. Thereafter, you have to go through document verification process in which you will be required to submit the original as well as photocopies of all the documents. On successful verification submit the fee to confirm the seat.

Reservation of Seats

In order to provide admission to the qualified candidates after the announcement of PU MET 2018 result, GD and PI based merit list, following reservation criteria of seats are going to be followed. In it, 53.5% seats are available for General category and rest 46.5% seats are treated as belonging to the candidates who apply under the Reserved category.

Admission to Additional Seats After Conducting PU MET 2018

Apart from the sanctioned intake of the candidates in each MBA programmes at UIAMS, additional seats are also reserved for the candidates who apply under the categories mentioned below:

  • Wards of Kashmiri Displaced Persons

1 additional seat is sanctioned for such candidates. Also, 10% relaxation in cut off percentage is given to the applicants. Waving off domicile requirements is also done.

  • One Girl Child out of the only Two Girl Children

There are 2 additional seats for the candidates in each MBA programmes at UIAMS. These seats are given to one of the two girl children or the only girl child of her parents.

  • Cancer, AIDS and Thalassemia Patients

1 additional seat to the candidates who suffer from Cancer, AIDS or Thalassemia.

  • For Rural Area Students

The admission to 2 additional seats in this category will be provided if an applicant has passed 10+2 from the school situated in rural areas that do not come under Municipal Corporation/ Municipal Committee/ Small Town/ Notified Area/ Cantonment Area.

  • Border Area Students

1 additional seat is available for the candidates who have passed 12th from Border Area schools situated within 20 km from the International Border.

  • Youth Festival

1 seat in each MBA programme is reserved for the applicants who have outperformed in InterVarsity Youth Festivals, National Festivals, and International Festivals.
