TISSNET 2019 – Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) has released the notification for Tata Institute of Social Science National Entrance Test (TISSNET). TISSNET 2019 Registration will commence from October 22, 2018. The TISSNET 2019 Exam Date has been changed to January 13, 2019. The recent change in the TISSNET 2019 exam pattern is that there will not be any negative marking for any of the programmes. In TISS, some M.A courses of TISS are considered to be equivalent to MBA degree. The Master’s course in Human Resource Management is the most reputed course that every MBA aspirant wants to pursue. So, eligible candidates must register and appear for TISSNET examination. Following that, applicants clearing the exam cut off will able to participate in the Pre Interview Test (PIT), and Personal Interview (PI) round for the final selection. Every year approximately 37000 applies for TISSNET examination. Since candidates have the option to choose only 3 programmes out of 55, 15-17 K students apply for HRM & LR. Once the registration process is over, we will know the exact number of TISSNET 2019 registration.

About TISSNET Examination

The TISSNET is a national level examination for admission in M.A., M. Sc., M.H.A., M.P.H. courses. Though the institute is popular for Arts related programmes, courses related to management are also well known. Even its alumni are well known all over the world.

Which management programme should I choose for admission in TISS Mumbai?
The two programmes that are considered equivalent to MBA are HR and LR. You can also opt for the rest of the programmes depending on your interest.

TISSNET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

It is essential that applicants check the eligibility criteria for TISSNET 2019. The eligibility for all the courses offered by TISS is as follows.

  • Academic Qualification – A student must have a Bachelor’s Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration from a recognized University.
  • Final Year Candidates – Final year aspirants can also apply for the exam. Such candidates must have passed all the previous year semester exams. For example, if a programme is of three-year duration, then you must have cleared all the first to fourth semesters. Such aspirants must submit the result by September 2019.

TISSNET 2019 Application Form

Registration – It is the first step to apply for TISSNET 2019. Thus, register for TISS with a valid email-id. Following that, the exam conducting body will send the password on the same entered email. You have to use the same email id and password to log in and to access any facility by TISSNET. Once the exam registration is complete, you can proceed to fill the application form.

Application Form – The TISSNET 2019 Application Form will available at the official website of TISSNET. In it, you have to enter personal, programme and academic details. Fill the form correctly and recheck it twice before final submission. Importantly, submit the form before the last date of registration.

Do not fill multiple forms. For more than one programme use the same application form.

Programme Preference – You can select a maximum of 3 courses out of the total 55 programmes for TISSNET 2019. For MBA specific programmes, check the TISS M.A Programmes table above.

Upload Documents – Candidates have to upload a scanned copy of photograph, signature, and category certificates etc.

Test City – Candidates can select the test city according to the order of preference in the TISSNET 2019 form. The exam will take place in 39 cities all over India.

Application Fee – Candidates must pay the fee according to the number of programme selected and caste category. For the general category, the fee is Rs 1030/-, Rs 2060/-, Rs 3090/- for one, two, three programmes respectively. Whereas for SC/ST/ OBC, the fee is Rs 260/-, Rs 520/-, Rs 780/- for one, two, three programmes respectively.

Is TISSNET 2019 Application Available Offline

Yes, candidates having no internet facility in remote areas can access the offline form. In such cases, you have to write to TISS to request a printed application form. After filling the form, you have to send the same at the university address via speed post. TISS 2019 Admission Process/ Selection Process

Candidates have to clear all the rounds, in order to take admission in the college. The selection process consists of following rounds.

  1. Entrance Exam – Appear for the TISSNET 2019 on the specified dates.
  2. Cutoff – Candidates have to get minimum qualifying marks in order to participate in the next round.
  3. PIT & PI – This round will test the candidate’s communication skills, academic knowledge, creativity etc.
  4. Merit List – On the basis of previous rounds, merit list will release to admit candidates on the preference of programme selected.
  5. Final Admission – Selected students will get the intimation to take the final admission in the college.

TISSNET 2019 Exam Pattern

Is the Exam Online or Offline? – TISSNET 2019 is an online test or computer-based exam.

What types of Questions appear in TISSNET? – There are only multiple choice questions (MCQ) in the exam.

About the Marking Scheme? There is an addition of +1 mark for each correct answer. Moreover, there is no negative marking in the paper.

What is the time duration of TISSNET 2019? – Candidates must complete the test in 1 Hour 40 Minutes of total 100 minutes.

TISSNET 2019 Preparation

TISSNET 2019 Admit Card

The TISSNET 2019 Admit Card will release in the month of December 2018. It will be available on the official website to download it before the exam date. Candidates must use the email-id and password to access the admit card. The TISSNET admit card will contain the important details like registration details, roll number, test venue etc. Most importantly, candidates must carry the hall ticket on the examination day along with a valid identity proof.

In case the candidates are not able to download the TISSNET 2019 Admit Card. Then, they must write a mail to [email protected], or call at 022 – 2552 5252. So, download the admit card as soon as the window is live.

TISSNET 2019 Exam Analysis

The precise analysis of TISSNET 2019 will release just after the exam concludes on January 13, 2019. Last year, the overall difficulty level of the exam was easy. Though the General Knowledge section was on the tougher side. Most of the questions were from current affairs. The questions from static GK were quite less.

TISSNET 2019 Result

TISSNET 2019 PIT/ PI

After TISSNET 2019, The Pre Interview Test (PIT), and Personal Interview (PI) are the two rounds that a candidate must clear after TISSNET 2019. About Personal Interview

Now, the personal Interview will take place for each candidate. In the interview, students have to answer questions based on ethics, academic, general knowledge etc. In addition to that, you must also prepare from the topics related to the course selected by them.

Interview City

  • The interview will take place at the campus for which the particular course is selected. As most of the management courses are available at Mumbai campus. which means you have to visit the TISS Mumbai campus for the interview.
  • Only, SC/ST will get the reimbursement of traveling allowance. For the rest, they have to make travel arrangements accordingly.
  • In case, an aspirant has applied for more than one programme. Then the student will get admission according to the order of course preference marked in the registration form.
  • Students may request for a change in PIT/PI dates if it is clashing with other interviews.

TISSNET 2019 Merit List

After PIT & PI rounds are over, the institute will publish on the merit list official website. It will release after considering seat availability, the order of preference, and reservation policy. The weightage of each round in TISSNET 2019 is as follows.

Rules of Preparation of TISSNET 2019 Waiting List

Candidates who will not get the admission according to the first preference will have to cool one’s heels for the waiting list. The rules for the waiting list are as follows.

  • Candidates getting admission through 2nd preference can wait for the list, in case the seat is vacant for the 1st preference.
  • If a candidate gets the admission in two courses. Then the higher order preference will prevail.

TISSNET 2019 Reservation

Candidates seeking admission in TISS will get the reservation benefits according to the government norms. There is reservation of 15% and 27% at the Mumbai and Hyderabad campuses respectively. The policy is applicable for Scheduled Caste (SC), Schedule Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer) for each of the programmes. In addition to that 3%, 5% seats are reserved for Persons With Disabilities (PWD), Kashmiri migrants, and Children of the Armed Forces Employees respectively.
