Just like all other percentiles, candidates’ XAT percentile also determines the number of students who have scores less than him/her. It also assists in deciding the rank of applicant for the admission in management courses in all the colleges and institutions accepting XAT score.

To calculate the percentile only the marks obtained in Part-A are considered. This percentile is used by all the participating institutions to prepare the particular college merit list.

General Formula to Calculate XAT percentile:

XAT Percentile = [1 – (Your Rank in XAT 2019/Total Number of Candidates taking XAT 2019)] * 100

Let’s us understand this with an example:

Suppose a candidate got 600 rank in XAT 2019 out of 30000 candidates who appeared for the exam. In this case percentile will be calculated as:

XAT 2019 Percentile= [1- (600/30000)]*100= 98 percentile

This depicts that 98 percent of candidates who took the exam scored less than you. Candidate must remember that no one gets 100 percentile. As percentile shows the number of candidates below her/him including herself/himself.
